What if Jesus of Nazareth was not only resurrected from the dead in about AD 30, but stayed on the planet? What if there was no Ascension into heaven? Think about it?
- Would he have been lauded as a son of god or treated as a freak?
- Would he have been killed again?
- Would he have been resented as human after human died, and he lived on?
- How would he have guided the church, if he did? (I think that the contemporary church would have nothing to do with him, especially in the United States!)
- Would he continue to heal a few people when he had time and the inclination?
- Would he have taught what being dead was like, really?
But, you say, it didn't happen that way? We cannot think thoughts like this. We might be involved in heresy!
Or, you say, I don't believe God raised Jesus from the dead.
But suppose. Just suppose. Think outside your own box a bit and wonder. And leave a comment, please.
